Meet the Little Green Dragon

Hello and Welcome Crafter!

My name is Anne-Lise Maigaard, and I’m the creative mind behind Little Green Dragon Knit & Crochet Designs. I live in a charming old house nestled in the woods of Sweden, where I find endless inspiration in the beauty of nature. Sharing this cosy space with my husband and two free range cats, I spend my days immersed in the world of yarn crafts.

My Creative Story

I published my first pattern in 2010, not realising in those early days how that simple step would set me on a path that would completely change my life. At the time, I was working as an administrative assistant in a corporate office. Four years later, after completing a two-year education in weaving and textile design, I took a leap of faith and made the transition to full-time independent designer.

Joy of Creating

My design journey began as a personal challenge to keep things interesting. I longed for designs with a natural flow and intricate details that kept me engaged and inspired. Each project became a space to explore new techniques and push creative boundaries. That joy of discovery is still at the heart of what I do, driving me to create patterns that feel like little adventures—challenging yet rewarding, and always designed to help you find new inspiration and confidence in your craft.

Thank you for visiting my corner of the crafting world—I’m thrilled to share my passion with you!

Collaborations

I truly value the creative synergy that comes from collaborating with others.

A few years ago, I had the privilege of working with the talented Nim Teasdale on a Viking inspired Design-Along for the Gorgeous Gradients group on Ravelry.

Our partnership extended beyond virtual interaction—Nim even travelled to Sweden so we could meet in person!

The outcome of the design challenge is displayed in the picture: I’m wearing Shield Maiden, and Nim is showcasing her design, The Trickster.

The Wild Swan

During her travels, we set out on a another creative collaboration, resulting in The Wild Swan, a free knitting pattern that reflects our shared creativity and connection. You can find it both here and on Ravelry.

On a Mission to Inspire Makers

Whether you’re a beginner wanting to explore new techniques or an experienced fibre artist seeking a rewarding challenge, I aim to give you patterns that entertain, inspire, and leave you with a sense of accomplishment.

Yarn Collaborations

Farbmasche

I love to create patterns for gradients, and I was fortunate to meet and become friends with the wonderful duo behind Farbmasche, Jutta and Martin. While their shop is currently on pause as they focus on other pursuits, their creativity and friendship continue to inspire me.

Pook Yarns

Creating gradients using mini skeins is truly an art, and Pook Yarns mastered it beautifully. An indie dyer with great talent.

Dye Diana Dye

My most recent yarn collaboration was with Dye Diana Dye, a very talented indie dyer known for her exquisite silk and linen yarns. A kind and creative soul, her work is truly inspiring.
